Shopify POS Tile Migration Guide (Old => New)

Shopify is force sunsetting legacy "POS link" tiles. Our app is NOT going away, but merchants must migrate to Filljoy's newer app tiles which have the same functionality.
Official deadline: Friday, February 28, 2025
However, we strongly recommend migrating as soon as possible in order to minimize disruption to your staff and store operations.

How-To Guide for "Weigh an Item" Tile
If your app looks like this:
Add Filljoy's new POS UI Extension tile by tapping Add Tile > App > Filljoy Sell by Weight for POS > Weigh and Item (2025 stable release). Tap Save when done.
Your new tile has the same functionality as the old one and now looks like this:
After you've tried out the new tile and confirmed it's working well for your store, you can eventually remove our app's old tile on your home screen by long pressing on it:
How-To Guide for "Edit Cart Quantities (Beta)" Tile
If your app looks like this:
Add Filljoy's new POS UI Extension tile by tapping Add Tile > App > Filljoy Sell by Weight for POS > Edit Cart Quantities (2025 stable release). Tap Save when done.
Your new tile has the same functionality as the old one and now looks like this:

Why do we have to migrate? Can we stay on the old tiles?
Shopify is force sunsetting legacy POS Link tiles which means eventually the old tiles will cease to function. App developers are responsible for communicating this to merchants and helping to facilitate migrations to newer tiles.
Do these newer POS UI Extension tiles offer any benefits over the legacy POS App Links?
Yes! POS UI Extensions are built on a completely different technology stack and render elements natively within Shopify POS. Some benefits include:

- Improved product search component which also supports barcode scanning
- More user-friendly weight number input
